Personal Website Instructions
 |
Logical Net provides you server space for your personal website and mail storage. Most of our users like to
use this space to share pictures with their families members across the world or to post a personal website to display
their creative genius.
You are not to use this personal Web Space to distribute or publish any advertising of goods or services,
solicitations for funds, or other commercial messages.
Before you get started in setting up your personal web page on our system, you need to have the following:
- A valid Internet access account with your User Name and Password available
- HTML editor and an FTP client.
There are many HTML editor and FTP clients available in the marketplace. An HTML editor is equivalent
to a world processor that is used to write web pages. An FTP client is program that is used to transfer
files from your computer to a server. So when you use and HTML editor to design your Web Page, you would
use an FTP client to upload the web page to our server. Some computers bundle HTML editors such as a Microsoft FrontPage program.
Here are some links for HTML editors and FTP clients that you can download free. It is important
to note that some HTML editors include FTP capabilities. If they don't, Logical Net prefers the FTP client
called SmartFTP. This software has some cool features and we like the name of it because it resembles our
customers… Smart people.

Unfortunately we cannot provide support for these products or educate you on how to build your personal web page.
By the fact that you chosen Logical Net to be your Internet services provider, we know you are smart and quite capable
of learning. Besides, most of these HTML editors and FTP clients have tutorials packaged with the program.
One important thing to note is that you should ALWAYS name you first page as "index.html".
When you publish your website it will be published under the following URL:
members.logical.net/~yourname
The "yourname" is the name you use when you are logging into your dialup account WITHOUT the "@logical.net". So if your login is joe@logical.net, "yourname" is joe.
Once you have created your web page using an HTML editor and you have installed your FTP Client, it's time
to show the world what you've created.
